In the fall of 2012 the Avila Music School Memorial Library began a lending service to teachers, students and musicians from Marathon to Kenora as well as to the City of Thunder Bay. It is the largest collection of musical scores, resource material and recordings between Toronto and Winnipeg. From the original legacy of the Sisters of St. Joseph, the library continues to expand from the generous donations of retiring and retired teachers, musicians and others who recognize the unique value it offers to the musical community. This endeavour would not have been possible without the support and funding provided by The Ontario Trillium Foundation. In 2012, Avila Music School was the recipient of an Ontario Trillium Foundation grant which allowed us to begin our lending library by acquiring computer, administrative s and library equipment, and by providing resources to fund our marketing efforts to promote the library. A plaque which acknowledges our Ontario Trillium Foundation support is located in the entrance of our building(See Below).
